I just watched the movie ’21 & Over’ and I really have a clear view of what I want to do in life. It’s crazy that after watching a movie about drinking, avoiding the police, and waking up in time for a medical interview after a night full of mayhem… I gained insight about my life.
I want to *drum roll* TRAVEL.
I’ve always wanted to travel. I want to see how everyone in other countries lives. I want to go to other countries to study other religions and eat different cuisine. I want to travel everywhere. Although some places I can’t go because I’m an African-American female, so I won’t go there.
I don’t know what my inner quest (if that makes sense) is. I wouldn’t mind teaching English to students abroad. I wouldn’t mind studying medicine under some of the world’s greatest physicians.
I just want to be happy in life. I want to look back on my life before I get married and have a family and know that I lived life the best I could according to my age and finances. I don’t want to be the person that goes to school all of their life, gets a job to pay off student debt, and then die. Yes there’s happiness between those stages but it’s not all of the same.
Yes, this article is poorly written and constructed… but honestly I don’t care. I’m happy writing this article. I’m happy with my idea of being happy. Dangit, I’m happy of being me.
If you’re reading my article, here’s some advice:
Be happy in life, don’t just be content. Being content plants the seed of sadness in your heart. Being sad plants the seed of bitterness in your heart. Life is too short to be sad and bitter. Love hard. Even if love breaks your heart and dies in front of your eyes, realize that the love was real and had a purpose at one point. A life with no purpose is a life wasted. Whatever makes you happy, by God do it!
